Jet blast from SpiceJet blows out Indigo plane's window, 5 injured

Passengers onboard an Indigo coach at the New Delhi airport escaped death by a whisker as a jet blast from a SpiceJet plane approaching the parking bay shattered one of its  windows. The impact of the blast shattered the right front window of the plane, said an IndiGo spokesperson.

The five passengers who received minor injuries were taken to the airport clinic. The matter is being probed by the aviation watchdog DGCA or the Director General of Civil Aviation. 

Meanwhile, in a statement, IndiGo said, "IndiGo coach number 34 was parked at Bay 17 today at 16:50 hours for boarding of passengers on flight 6E—191 enroute Delhi—Mumbai. At the same time, an arriving aircraft of Spicejet SG—253 took a to park at the allocated bay. The jet blast from the aircraft broke the right front window glass of the coach."

However, SpiceJet's official statement refuses to agree to the fact stated by IndiGo. It said, "It is also too early to apportion responsibility as the pilots were following normal procedures… In any case we have informed the regulator and the airline is closely cooperating with all assistance. There was no damage to the window panes of any aircraft."
