As a tribute to the former President of India, APJ Abdul Kalam, the Indian Railways' South Western Railway(SWR) zone installed a bust of the late scientist at the railway coaching depot in Bengaluru.
Pictures of the 7.8-foot-high bust were shared by Indian Railways on Twitter. As per the caption, the 800 kg heavy structure was made of scrap substances like Bolts, Nuts, Wire Ropes, Soap Containers & Damper pieces.
The unique installation can be witnessed by the passengers who will travel from Yeswanthpur railway station in Bengaluru towards Tumakuru. The bust, along with a statue of Swami Vivekananda and the 'Make in India' lion, were also built by SWR's Yeswanthpur coaching depot team.
After it was shared online, the post has collected over 2,600 likes and various comments. While some were surprised at the creativity, others appreciated the initiative. Take a look.
