Heavy rains in Bengaluru leave commuters stranded; city receives 30-40 mm rainfall

Bengaluru: While Karnataka is battling floods as river Ghataprabha in Gokak is flowing at 542.02 meters, which is above its danger level of 542.00 meters. River Krishna in Dharwad is also flowing above the danger level as it is flowing at 565.95 meters, above its danger level of 564 meters.
The rains have not only caused damages to North Karnataka, but also the IT capital, Bengaluru.
Heavy rains lashed Bengaluru, worsening the already bad traffic situation. The Kempegowda International Airport in Devanahalli recorded 52 mm rainfall from Monday evening till Tuesday morning. The city areas also received 30 to 50 mm rainfall.
According to reports, IMD Bengaluru said that moderate to heavy rainfall is expected in the city until the weekend.
In another report, Bellur village in Mandya district on Monday received maximum rainfall of 109 mm.
Other regions around Mangaluru airport recorded 66 mm rainfall while Jagalbet in Uttara Kannada district recorded 78 mm.
