Haryana Horror: Badminton Player Tortured To Death After Eloping With Minor In Haryana

A 21-year-old badminton player was allegedly tortured to death in Faridabad by the family of a minor girl with whom he had eloped. After the girl's family filed a kidnapping complaint, they reportedly captured the man. He was found with severe injuries and later died in a hospital.

In a shocking incident from Faridabad, Haryana, a 21-year-old badminton player was allegedly tortured to death by the family of a minor girl after the two reportedly eloped together.

The victim, identified as Monu, was a resident of Bhiwadi in Rajasthan. According to reports, Monu and a 17-year-old girl from Tigaon had run away together nearly a month ago, following which the girl’s family lodged a kidnapping complaint against him at the Tigaon police station.

During the investigation, police traced the girl and presented her before a magistrate, where she reportedly stated that she had not been kidnapped. However, Monu remained untraceable for several days.

Two days before his death, Monu reportedly left home telling his family he was heading to the Tigaon police station in connection with the case. He never returned. Later, the girl’s family allegedly informed the police that they had captured him.

When officers reached the location, they found Monu unconscious with severe injuries across his body. Police suspect he was held hostage and brutally tortured for nearly three days. He was rushed to a hospital in critical condition but succumbed to his injuries on Friday morning.

Based on a complaint filed by Monu’s father, police initially registered a case of attempt to murder. Following his death, the charges were upgraded to murder. The Crime Branch has taken two members of the girl’s family into custody and launched a detailed investigation.

Authorities are now probing whether Monu was abducted from his home in Rajasthan or from Faridabad when he arrived for questioning at the police station.
