Food delivery agent tests positive for COVID-19 in Chennai; father dies of infection

Chennai: A 66-year-old man who tested positive for coronavirus on April 22 passed away today. His 26-year-old son, a food delivery agent, has tested positive for the virus.

The food delivery staffer worked in Chennai till April 22. He was home quarantined after his father tested positive for the virus.

Meanwhile, authorities are tracing the contacts of the 26-year-old, who is undergoing treatment at Government Kilpauk Medical College Hospital.

Virus spread from cancer hospital:

According to reports, the 66-year-old man contracted the infection while he was at a cancer hospital. 5 more who visited the hospital tested positive for COVID-19.

25 deaths in the state:

121 new coronavirus cases were reported on April 29 in Tamil Nadu, according to data released by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. This brings the total reported cases of coronavirus in Tamil Nadu to 2,058. Among the total people infected as on date, 1,168 have recovered and 25 have passed away.
