Fill your buckets today; no water supply in 65 areas of Bengaluru on January 22

Synopsis

Taps in Bengaluru will run dry on Wednesday as Bangalore Water Supply and Sewerage Board will take up repair work at its pump house (Cauvery Water Supply Stage I II and III) on the outskirts of the city.  

There will not be a single drop of water running through taps in Bengaluru on January 22. Areas that would get potable Cauvery water on a daily basis will run dry as Bangalore Water Supply and Sewerage Board (BWSSB) will start its annual repair and maintenance work

The water pump house at TK Halli, Harohalli, and Tataguni which provides water to Cauvery water supply at stage I, II and III will be shut from 6 am to 10 pm on Wednesday.

A statement from the water board states that 65 locations including Yeshwanthpur, Malleshwaram, Mathikere, Jayamahal, Vasanth Nagar, RT Nagar, Sanjaynagar, Sadashivanagar, Hebbal, Bharathi Nagar, Fraser Town,  Wilson Garden, Shivajinagar, Jeevan Bima Nagar, Madiwala, Majestic, Yelachenahalli, Neelasandra, KS Layout, Banashankari 2nd stage, BTM Layout, Basavangudi, Indiranagar, Ulsoor, Koramangala and surrounding areas will be affected.

Residents and PG's which are dependent on the supply of Cauvery water should ensure that all their sumps, overhead tanks, pots and drums remain filled.
