Wife glues husband's eyes shut after fight

Never go to bed angry, they say.

Santhosh Vishwakarma and his wife Vijayalakshmi, who live in Reeva, Madhya Pradesh, had a bitter fight and the wife chose to stick her husband’s eyelids by applying Fevikwik when he was asleep. Fevikwik is a strong household adhesive which boasts of ‘permanent’ sticking properties.

The husband did not realise it in the night. When he woke up in the morning, he could not open his eyes. Sources said that the couple used to fight frequently. Not being able to open his eyes, Santhosh started shouting for help. Hearing this, their neighbours have informed the police.

As Vijayalakshmi heard the news of police being informed, she ran out of the house through the back door. The police forced the door open and admitted Santhosh to the district hospital.

The eye specialist at the hospital is said to have ruled out the possibility of a surgery as that was sure to cause damage to victim’s eyes. Currently, the doctor is trying to open the eyelids by giving the eyes some steam and heat.

Police have not arrested his wife Vijayalakshmi as no one has lodged a complaint against her.
