Coronavirus: Manipur CM Biren Singh tests COVID-19 positive

Imphal (Manipur): Manipur chief minister N Biren Singh today said that he had tested positive for the novel coronavirus. Singh shared the news on his Twitter account earlier today.

I have tested positive for COVID-19. I request all those who came in close contact with me recently, to self isolate and get tested.

Singh has requested people, who have been in close proximity to him in the last few days, to get themselves tested.

Meanwhile, following the tweet, the Advisor IT, Science and Technology, NRE, GoN, Mmhonlumo Kikon along with many others had wished him for speedy recovery.

Manipur reported five more COVID-related deaths in the last 24 hours, taking the total death toll to 218.

So far, the state has registered 21636 confirmed cases of COVID-19 with 3084 active and 18,334 recoveries. The recovery rate in the state is 84.73%.
