
Bengaluru: A fresh coronavirus case has been reported in Karnataka on March 19. With this, the total number of infections has reached to 15 in the state.
According to reports, the patient is from Kodagu. Health minister B Sriramulu took to Twitter and stated, "This person had returned from Saudi Arabia after a trip. He has been admitted in a designated isolated hospital for treatment and observation."
Regarding this, Kodagu deputy commissioner Annies Joy said that prohibitory orders under Section 144 of the Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC) have been imposed in Kodagu.
It is the 15th case in the state, including 11 cases from Bengaluru and 3 from Kalaburagi.
The novel coronavirus cases in India rose to 169 on Thursday after 18 fresh cases were reported from various parts of the country, according to the health ministry.
The cases include 25 foreign nationals - 17 from Italy, 3 from the Philippines, two from the UK, one each belonging to Canada, Indonesia and Singapore.
