Cong MP Jyotiraditya Scindia’s car kills an old man in Kochi

A 65-year-old man died on Wednesday after his two-wheeler was allegedly hit by a car in which Congress MP Jyothiraditya Scindia was travelling.  

 

Sasi, a resident of Puthiyakavu locality, was on his two-wheeler on the Kochi-Allapuzha stretch of a national highway when Scindia’s chauffeur-driven car hit his vehicle. Scindia was on his way to attend a function at Cherthala.

 

The MP later tweeted saying

 

Devastated - sad loss of life - unfortunate accident betw Cochin-Allepy. Arranged for hospital immediately - on way to meet bereaved family!

According to the police, Sasi was rushed to a nearby hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. The car was then handed over to the police and the MP left in another car according to KC Venugopal, Congress MP from Alappuzha.

 

Venugopal further said that Scindia was accompanied by three other Congress workers when the mishap occurred.
