The Central Bureau of Investigation has made some shocking revelations in the murder case of the seven-year-old Pradyuman Thakur. A Class XI student who was arrested in connection with the case has allegedly confessed that he slit the child’s throat only to postpone the exams because he was not prepared for it.

CBI detained the Class 11 student in connection with the murder under the Juvenile Justice Act on Tuesday, November 8.

Pradyuman Thakur was found with his throat slit on September 8 inside Ryan International School, Gurugram’s washroom.

The CBI, however, has not given a clean chit to the bus conductor Ashok Kumar who was earlier arrested by Gurugram police and had confessed to having killed the boy for resisting his sexual advances.  This has brought the Gurugram police’s investigation of the case under scrutiny.

The CBI claims the detained student used to carry a knife to school sometimes and he was undergoing mental health treatment for a year. CBI says it reviewed school records of the class 11 student and found he was not doing well in studies.

Hindustan Times quoted CBI sources saying that the murder weapon has been recovered.

Postmortem had revealed that an 18x2-cm neck-to-ear cut was what killed the child.

The CBI is also looking into CCTV footage for more clues.
