Bypoll results 2021 LIVE updates: BJP sweeps Assam; Congress emerges victorious in Himachal Pradesh

Congress emerged victorious in Raigaon constituency defeationg rival BJP. However, the saffron party bagged two Assembly seats -- Prithvipur, Jobat and a Lok Sabha seat in Khandwa. 

Congress candidate Jitesh, son of late Raosaheb Antapurkar after 12 rounds of counting received 60,116 votes against 39,034 polled by BJP’s Sabne. Maharashtra minister Aaditya Thackeray congratulates Congress' Jitesh Raosaheb Antapurkar for winning Deglur bypolls. 

"Congress candidate @Jantapurkarinc who won the Deglaur Assembly by-election in Nanded district, congratulations to him. This success is a symbol of the people's faith in the Mahavikas Aghadi government," Aaditya Thackeray wrote on Twitter.

In Madhya Pradesh, among two Assembly seats of Prithvipur in Niwari, Raigaon in Satna and one Parliamentary seat of Khandwa, the saffron party has won in Prithvipur and is leading in Khandwa. 

BJP candidate Eatala Rajender comfortably won against the ruling TRS candidate Gellu Srinivas Yadav in Huzurabad bypoll. 
 

UPPL’s Jolen Daimary has won the Tamulpur Assembly seat by securing 86,678 votes. He won by a margin of 57,059 votes, defeating Ganesh Kachary, an independent candidate.

JD(U) wins Tarapur, Kusheshwar Asthan assembly seats. Meanwhile, RJD came second and the Congress slips to fourth spot. Earlier JD(U) retained the Kusheshwar Asthan Assembly seat. 

We won all 5 seats with a huge margin. Today’s electoral victory in Assam isn’t an ordinary victory as in every seat we won by a margin higher than in general elections. People of North East have reposed their faith in leadership of PM Modi. Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is now a national party. It is no longer confined to 5-6 states. It is capable to win elections from any state: Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma on bypolls result.

The NDA alliance in Assam won all the five assembly seats defeating Congress. The BJP and its ally won in Bhabanipur, Gossaigaon, Tamulpur, Mariani and Thowra constituencies in the bypoll held on October 30. 
 

Congress candidate Preeti Shaktawat wins Vallabhnagar Assembly seat defeating BJP candidate by a margin of 20,606 votes. The party was earlier declared to have won the Dhariawad assembly seat with 18,725 votes.
 

BJP candidate Eatala Rajender is leading by 14,618 votes over the ruling TRS candidate Gellu Srinivas Yadav after 17 rounds of counting in Huzurabad bypoll. 
 

Congress' Jitesh Antapurkar is close to comfortably bagging the keenly fought Deglur Assembly bypoll, leading by 39,400 votes over BJP's Subhash Sabane at the end of Round 27.

The Congress party has won the Mandi Lok Sabha seat in Himachal Pradesh. With this, the party has swept the bypolls, having won all three Assembly seats in the state as well. 

CM Jai Ram Thakur said he humbly accepts the verdict given by people in by-elections to one Lok Sabha seat & three Assembly constituencies. He said the results were not as per expectations. He said that BJP lost Mandi Parliamentary seat with a narrow margin: CMO

In a jolt to BJP, the saffron party lost to Congress all three Assembly seats in Himachal Pradesh. Also, it lost 2 out of the 3 Lok Sabha seats. Taking to Twitter, Congress took a swipe at PM Modi over the loss. 

The Shiv Sena on Tuesday celebrated its first win outside Maharashtra after the party’s candidate Kalaben Delkar won a seat in the Dadra and Nagar Haveli bypolls.

Celebrations have begun in Hyderabad as former minister and BJP candidate Eatala Rajender is leading in Huzurabad Assembly by-election. Hundreds of his supporters gathered with drums and celebrated. 
 

In Telangana's Huzurabad, after 15 of total 22 rounds of counting, BJP candidate Eatala Rajender maintained a strong lead of 11,583 votes over TRS candidate Gellu Srinivas Yadav. BJP has polled 63,079 votes compared to 53,645 votes polled by TRS.

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has won the Thowra, Bhabanipur, Mariani seats in Assam, while its ally UPPL claimed victory in Gossaigaon. 

BJP’s Sushanta Borgohain has won the Thowra seat securing 54,956 votes, while Rupjyoti Kurmi won in Mariani by a margin of 40104 votes. BJP’s Phanidhar Talukdar has won in Bhabanipur LAC by a margin of 25641 votes. Meanwhile, UPPL’s Jiron Basumatary won in the Gossaigaon seat (part of the Bodo Territorial Region) by a margin of 28252 votes. 

Karnataka Congress President DK Shivakumar on Congress winning Hangal Assembly seat said let us go by the wishes of the people of Karnataka...They are looking towards change, as quoted by ANI. 
 

NPP wins 2 and UDP wins 1 Assembly seat in Meghalaya by-polls. In Mawphlang, UDP won with a margin of 4,401 votes, Congress came second, and NPP third. In Mawryngkneng, NPP won with a margin of 1,816 votes, Congress came second and Ind third. In Rajabala, NPP won with a margin of 1,926 votes, Congress came second, UDP third.

The Trinamool Congress (TMC) has won all 4 Assembly seats in by-polls -- Dinhata with a margin of 1,64,089 votes, Santipur with a margin of 64,675 votes, Khardaha with a margin of 93,832 votes and Gosaba with a margin of 1,43,051 votes. Meanwhile, BJP came at 2nd place in all 4 seats, Election Commission announced. 

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Tuesday said that the results of bypolls in Madhya Pradesh are unprecedented for BJP. We are not only winning Khandwa Lok Sabha seat but also Jobat Assembly seat where over 90 per cent people are STs. BJP won it only two times in 70 years. The results put a stamp on work done by Central and state governments, he said as quoted by ANI. 
 

Congress candidate Jitesh Raosaheb Antapurkar is leading by 21,082 votes against his nearest BJP rival Subhash Pirajirao Sabne in Deglur (SC) Assembly seat as per the trends of counting of votes for the bypoll. 
 

The Janata Dal (United) retained the reserved Kusheshwar Asthan Assembly seat by annihilating the nearest rival, of Lalu Prasad’s RJD, by a comfortable margin of more than 12,000 votes. JD(U)’s Aman Bhushan Hazari, the death of whose father had necessitated the by-election, secured 58,882 votes. RJD candidate Ganesh Bharti polled 47,184 votes.

The ruling Mizo National Front (MNF) secure a comfortable win in the Tuirial Assembly seat in Mizoram by securing 39.96 per cent of the total 14,561 votes polled, as per the Election Commission.
 

BJP and its ally UPPL won all five seats in the Assam bypolls. BJP's Sushanta Borgohain won the Thowra assembly seat by a margin of 30,561 votes. BJP's ally UPPL candidate Jiron Basumatary and Jolen Daimary  won the Gossaigaon and Tamulpur seats by a margin of of 28,252 and over 50,000 votes respectively.

The BJP has won the Jobat, a reserved ST seat, in Madhya Pradesh by a margin of 6,080 votes. After 30 rounds of counting, Congress' Mahesh Patel garnered 62,672 votes, while BJP's Sulochna Rawat got 68,752 votes.
 

Congress candidate Pratibha Singh along with her supporters celebrated her victory from Mandi parliamentary seat. She defeated her BJP rival Brig Khushal Thakur (retd) in a close contest.

Congress has emerged victorious in Himachal Pradesh and swept all three Assembly seats that went to by-polls on October 30. 

Congress wins in Dhariawad Assembly constituency by 18,725 votes and is leading in Vallabhnagar. Congress candidate Nagraj Meena defeated his nearest rival and Independent candidate Thawarchand, according to the result declared by the Election Commission.

Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) chief Abhay Chautala has won by a margin of over 6,500 votes over nearest rival Gobind Kanda of BJP in Ellenabad Assembly constituency of Haryana. 

Shiv Sena MP Priyanka Chaturvedi on Tuesday lauded her party’s stupendous performance in the Union Territory of Dadra & Nagar Haveli, and said that “justice is served”.

“First step outside Maharashtra registered with a massive win, a giant leap for a changing political scenario. Congratulations to Smt. Kalaben Mohan Delkar.Keep the Shiv Sena flag flying high. People of Dadra&Nagar Haveli have ensured justice is served. Jai Bhawani,Jai Shivaji!” she tweeted.

The Congress has emerged victorious in Hangal Assembly constituency of Karnataka by 7598-vote margin. Srinivas Mane won 87113 votes, while BJP’s Sajjanar secured 79,515 votes. 

Congress has secured a win in Fatehpur and Jubbal-Kothkai Assembly constituencies and leads in Arki. Congress candidate Rohit Thakur polled 29955 votes while BJP's Neelam Seraik got only 2644 votes. BJP rebel Chetan Singh Bragta, who contested as an independent candidate got 23,662 votes.

Meghalaya's ruling party NPP won Rajabala Assembly constituency, as its candidate Md. Abdus Saleh defeated his nearest opponent Hashina Yashmin Mondal of the Congress by a margin of over 1,900 votes, Chief Electoral Officer FR Kharkongor said. The NPP nominee secured 11,823 votes while Mondal got 9,897, he said. United Democratic Party's Ashahel D Shira secured the third position with 7,247 votes, the CEO said.
 

TMC wins Santipur Assembly seat by a margin of 63,892 votes. The TMC secured 1,10,907 votes, while BJP gained 47,015 and CPM polled 39,674 votes and Congress 2,836. Meanwhile NOTA 1,873. 

The ruling BJP and its ally are leading by big margins in all the five Assam Assembly constituencies — Gossaigaon, Tamulpur, Bhabanipur, Mariani and Thowra.

 According to the latest counting trends put on the Election Commission of India (ECI) website, BJP candidates Phanidhar Talukdar, Rupjyoti Kurmi and Sushanta Borgohain are leading in Bhabanipur, Mariani and Thowra seats, respectively. BJP ally UPPL’s candidates Jiron Basumatary and Jolen Daimary are leading in Gossaigaon and Tamulpur seats, respectively. These fell vacant after the deaths of the sitting MLAs.

Trinamool Congress MP and Mamata Banerjee’s nephew Abhishek took a swipe at the BJP after their complete rout in all four Assembly seats in the by-elections. “A cracker free Diwali in true sense. Wishing folks at BJP a very Happy Diwali!” he tweeted.

Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) candidate Dasari Sudha emerged victorious against all her rivals by a margin of nearly 90,000 votes in Badvel (SC) constituency of Andhra Pradesh. As per the latest trends on the ECI website, she has secured 1,12,072, while BJP candidate Panathala Suresh is at a distant second with 21,661 votes as of 2 pm.
 

TMC wins in Gosaba Assembly constituency and leads with huge margins on the remaining where counting is underway. The TMC has already won the bypoll in Cooch Behar district’s Dinhata.
