BRS MLA accuses CM of 'personal grudge' over CID notice

Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) MLA Padi Kaushik Reddy on Wednesday termed the crime investigation department (CID) notice issued to him over an alleged altercation with police as "unfortunate", accusing Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy of acting out of "personal grudge". Speaking to ANI, he claimed he was being targeted for demanding the fulfilment of the Congress government's "six guarantees" and election promises. "It is very unfortunate that Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has a personal grudge against me and issued a CID notice. It is because I have been demanding that he give those six guarantees and 420 promises which he made to the people of Telangana. So he has been giving me illegal notices," said Kaushik.

Reddy on BRS members' suspension from Assembly

Reacting to the suspension of BRS members from the Assembly, Reddy said the move targeted the entire party and asserted that the Chief Minister, not the opposition, should face action for his conduct and language. "I have not been suspended; our entire BRS party has been suspended. But they have formed an ethics committee. As the BRS party, we are also going to make a complaint; if somebody has to be expelled from the assembly, it is the Chief Minister Revanth Reddy for the language he uses," he added.

January temple scuffle and detention

Earlier in January, Kaushik Reddy and his wife were detained from a temple at Sammakka Sarakka in Veenavanka Mandal, Karimnagar district, after a scuffle broke out with the police. The incident was captured by locals, and the video is going viral on social media.

BRS party MLA Padi Kaushik Reddy's wife, Shalini Reddy, said on the issue that, "We came here to offer prayers to Sammakka Sarakka, but the police detained me, my husband, and daughter."

BRS complains to Governor over alleged illegal mining

On Monday, a delegation of Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) MLAs and MLCs met the Governor of Telangana, Shiv Pratap Shukla, and submitted a formal complaint seeking an inquiry into the alleged illegal mining and land-grabbing activities of Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy. The BRS delegation held a detailed meeting with the Governor at Raj Bhavan for nearly an hour, during which they presented documentary evidence related to large-scale irregularities, including illegal mining operations and unlawful land encroachments linked to the Minister.
