Bihar youth fined Rs 20,000 for forcibly kissing a girl

Synopsis

The amount was fixed according to the number of kisses. One kiss is worth ₹10000, and since, the accused kissed the victim twice thus double the amount.

In Bihar, a Panchayat slapped a fine of ₹20,000 on a youth and charged him with molesting a girl and for forcibly kissing her twice. The Makhachak panchayat under the Bakhri sub-division in Begusarai district handed over this verdict.

The Hindustan Times report claimed that as per a few villagers the amount was fixed according to the number of kisses and one kiss is worth ₹10000, and since, he kissed the victim twice thus double the amount.

However, the 20-year-old victim was allegedly not happy with the verdict, and instead, she wanted to get married with the accused, the daily reported. The girl argued that since she belongs to a conservative background and the accused is from same community no other person will marry her.

Meanwhile, the local police are unaware of this incident. Dismissing the incident, the police haven’t registered any case, the same report stated.

SHO of Bakhri police station, Sushil Kumar, reportedly said that the authority has not received any formal complaint and alleged that both of them were having an affair, the HT quoted him as saying.

The SHO also admitted that a case of molestation was already pending against the accused and that he had been absconding, therefore police haven’t been able to arrest him.
