Bihar elections: Nitish begins campaign with '15 years vs 15 years' pitch

'15 years vs 15 years' -- That's the poll narrative that Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar sought to initiate in his first virtual election campaign.

Addressing party cadre and voters of 11 Assembly constituencies that will go to vote in the first phase on October 28, Nitish urged people to judge the developmental work done by his administration and then vote.

Nitish was especially critical of Rashtriya Janata Dal and its leader Tejashwi Yadav's claim that his party would provide 10 lakh jobs if elected to power.

Mocking the RJD, he said those who could not even hold a cabinet meeting properly during their reign were today talking about sanctioning lakhs of government jobs at the very first cabinet meeting.

"They should tell people how many jobs they created in the 15 years they had. And we will tell them how many people we have provided employment to (during his terms as CM since 2005)," he said.

Nitish will be addressing another virtual rally on Tuesday for some other constituencies that will see voting in the first round. Altogether 71 constituencies will be held in Bihar's first phase of Assembly election.
