Minister K Sudhakar has visited the godown which caught fire at New Guddadahalli in Bapuji Nagar in Bengaluru. Sudhakar stated that the BBMP would inspect the loss incurred by people in the surroundings for compensation.

Bengaluru: Health and Medical Education Minister K Sudhakar on Thursday visited the godown at New Guddadahalli in Bapuji Nagar in Bengaluru.

Sudhakar shared on his twitter handle that strict action would be taken against those companies and individuals who were also purchasing chemicals and other supplies from the illegal Rekha Chemical Industries.

The Health and Medical Education Minister also stated that the BBMP would inspect the loss incurred by people who lived around the godown and compensations would be given after discussing with the BBMP Commissioner Manjunath Prasad.

After a major fire broke out at a godown in Bapuji Nagar on Mysuru road in Bengaluru on November 10, the police on Wednesday arrested the owners and their son.

As many as 1,800 barrels of chemicals used for sanitisers and paint thinners were illegally stored in the godown according to police.

The accused have been identified as Sajjanraj, 66, the owner of Rekha Chemical Industries, his wife Kamala Sajjanraj, 60, owner of Rekha Chemicals Corporation, and their son Anil Kumar, 30, who managed the family business were arrested.
