
A dispute over an missing mobile phone escalated into a confrontation between Northeast and local students at a nursing college in Andhra Pradesh's Kakinada, prompting senior officials to intervene and relocate students to separate accommodation. The incident took place at SK College of Nursing in Kakinada after a mobile phone belonging to a Northeast student was reportedly found missing on August 21. The dispute over the phone allegedly escalated into a confrontation between students from the Northeast, including Manipur, and Telugu-speaking students.
After the District Collector and Superintendent of Police intervened and gave officials instructions to resolve the hostel's tension, the situation was brought under control.
Students from the Northeast were given separate housing after both groups protested. In order to avoid any further escalation, 31 students from other states were also moved to a different hostel with their permission. To guarantee the protection of the kids, plans were also devised by the police and district administration.

According to the Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister's Office, Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu reviewed the incident and directed senior officials to resolve the matter immediately.
Following his directives, the District Collector and SP made arrangements for accommodations, made sure the children were secure, and took action to stop the situation from getting worse. The CMO stated that the problem was later fixed.
According to reports, the conflict started on August 21 when a Northeast student's cell phone vanished. Tension within the dormitory is said to have arisen as the dispute between the two groups intensified. According to reports, some Northeast kids were hurt during the altercation; pictures of the pupils appear to indicate injuries. In the midst of the conflict, the students allegedly took refuge inside the hostel.
Senior officials stepped in and ordered local authorities to visit the hostel and handle the situation after the issue made its way to the district administration and police. The administration subsequently separated the groups as a precautionary measure.
