“The BJP, the Congress and the Left are working in alliance in the state.” On Monday (December 7), West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee made such an allegation.

The Congress and the Left have retaliated against the Chief Minister's allegations. Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury, the president of the provincial Congress, alleged that the Chief Minister was making false allegations before the polls.

Sujan Chakraborty, the leader of the Left Parliamentary Party, said that he could not support the farmers' strike just to satisfy the BJP.

Though Mamata Banerjee did not directly support the ‘Bharat Bandh’ called by the farmers today (December 8) to demand the repeal of the three agriculture and power laws, the Chief Minister, however, stood by the demand of the farmers.

Congress seems to have shown its support to the farmers. According to the provincial president, the country's ration system and food security will be ruined due to this new agricultural law.

Sujan Chakraborty said, “The Chief Minister of West Bengal is showing compassion to the farmers to get the votes of people in the 2021 assembly polls. The farmers of the state do not get the minimum price for their staples. They are forced to sell crops at much lower prices.”

Left parliamentary party leader Sujan Chakraborty stood by Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury on the issue of ‘Bharat Bandh’. In his words, the strike was supported by the people. The people did not accept the circular issued by the state government to break the strike. Sujan Chakraborty alleged, “In Singur, Mamata Banerjee started the movement with the BJP. So, the BJP does not move away from the side of the Chief Minister's two-pronged position.”

Sujan also alleged that Mamata Banerjee had started the politics of provincialism. The Left parliamentary party leader also reminded what the Chief Minister had said to the non-Bengalis when she got out of the car at Barrackpore.

The two leaders claimed that the Congress and the Left were alternatives to the politics imported by the Chief Minister. They think that the alliance is the only alternative force. The combined power will liberate Bengal from TMC’s misrule.
