Listen: Kiran Rao's golden voice gives Aamir's 'Satyamev Jayate' a boost

Toofan Aala is an inspiring anthem for the second edition of Paani Foundation’s Satyamev Jayate Water Cup. It is sung by Aamir Khan's wife Kiran Rao and the music video is directed by Nagraj Manjule, the director of popular Marathi film Sairat. The Paani foundation was started with 3 districts in 2016 and now extends to 30 districts. 

The Satyamev Jayate Water Cup is a project aimed at tacking Maharashtra’s water crisis. The second edition anthem song that features several popular figures is a perfect example of how celebrities can use their status to make a difference in the world we live in.

The video shows people from the villages and their struggle for water, along with Aamir Khan and several other popular Marathi celebrities including Sonali Kulkarni and Sai Tamhankar. The Satyamev Jayate Water Cup is a competition between villages to find out who can do the maximum for water conservation. Those who are familiar with Maharashtra’s draught conditions will know the gravity of the situation. So, next time you see someone wasting water, point them to this video.
