82 persons tested positive for coronavirus in Kerala on Wednesday, chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan said
Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan in his daily briefing said that the state recorded 82 new cases of COVID-19 on Wednesday.
Of the positive cases today, five had contracted the disease through contact and five are health workers. While 53 came from abroad, 19 came from neighbouring states. 24 were cured of the disease, Vijayan informed.
20 staffers in Kerala medical college were told to quarantine themselves after COVID-19 death:
After the death of the 72-year-old KG Varghese, around 15 to 20 medical professionals in various departments have been asked to undergo quarantine. Varghese, was undergoing treatment for severe pneumonia at the hospital. He passed away on Tuesday morning. His test results came back positive by the same evening.
360 flights expected to arrive in Kerala:
360 flights are expected to arrive in Kerala in June. But in the first 10 days of the month, only 10 flights were scheduled. The Centre had been unable to stick to the pre-arranged scheduled, but Kerala will be ready. We will initiate the process to ensure that more flights can land in Kerala, said Pinarayi Vijayan.
