65-year-old woman burnt to death in Kolkata

Synopsis

A massive fire broke out at a house in Kalighat. An old woman residing in the house was burnt to death. Meanwhile, the cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained. However, fire officials and Kalighat police are investigating the matter.  

A massive fire broke out at a house in Kalighat. An old woman residing in the house was burnt to death. However, a man named Rajiv Pal was admitted to SSKM hospital in a burnt condition. As soon as the fire brigade team got the news, they immediately reached the spot with four fire engines.

According to local sources, a house caught fire in Kalighat Patua Para on Thursday (November 12) morning. When the fire brigade team was informed, they first reached the spot with two fire engines followed by other two.

A total of four fire engines came and brought the fire under control after several attempts. However, the old woman who died in the fire was named Bibha Pal. She was 65 years old. The tragic incident has triggered panic in the area. 

Meanwhile, the cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained. However, fire officials and Kalighat police are investigating the matter. The death of the old woman has cast a shadow of mourning over the locality.
