24-year jumps off Bandra-Worli Sea link as ex-lover gets engaged

Synopsis

Pawandeep was depressed as he got the news of his ex-lover's engagement. He left home at 3 am and hailed a taxi which took him to the Worli Bandra sea link. He allegedly committed suicide there.

In a tragic incident in Mumbai, a 24-year old man jumped off the Bandra-Worli Sea link as he received news of his ex-girlfriend getting engaged to someone else. Pawandeep Singh Kohli, the son of an established businessman went missing on Sunday. He was last seen by his mother who asked him to take the car when he was going out at 3 am at night. It is reported that Kohli refused to take the car and hailed a taxi.

According to the statement of the taxi driver, Kohli asked him to stop the car at the sea link and confessed that he wanted to commit suicide. When the taxi driver tried to convince him that suicide was not  worth everything, he pulled out his belt and tried to strangulate him. When the car stopped, he jumped out of the bridge immediately. While the incident happened at 3 am, his body was found floating at around 9:30 am near the rocks at Bandra Fort. His body was identified by his father. He had left behind a suicide note, which mentioned the names of his four friends and his ex-girlfriend. 

Another media version states that Kohli was heavily drunk and was in depression after he got the news. His friends, therefore, dropped him home. But he left home immediately after reaching. He hailed a taxi and asked it to stop in the middle of the Bandra-Worli sea link because he wanted to vomit. Police is suspecting that he must have fell into the sea accidentally while vomiting. A case of accidental death has been registered.
