Calling this their "worst performance" so far, China has slouched drastically on the medals table. Chinese Olympic committee chief Liu Peng has said that the level of competition at the Olympics this year took them by surprise. However, the committee chief has vouched to bounce back with a better performance the next time. The committee has also laid importance on improving their experience, learning, ability and performance.
Liu Peng also congratulated his athletes for not bowing down to desperate measures to win upholding the spirit of the competition.
