There were 62 people on board, including seven children and three babies.According to Flightradar24, SJ182 dropped over 10,000 feet in altitude in under 60 seconds.The local weather department fears that heavy rain and strong winds could hamper the search and rescue efforts.

Our thoughts are with the crew, passengers, and their families."Sriwijaya Air president Jefferson Irwin Jauwena said that even though the aircraft was 26 years old, it was still airworthy.
