Furthermore, he has also spent 900 weeks in the top-10, becoming the first player in history to do so.

Novak Djokovic record-breaking finish as world number one: The Serbian legend, who won the Australian Open this year, finished the year as the world number one, thus becoming the joint-best, alongside Pete Sampras, to do so on most occasions, of six. He is currently in his 299th week, as he chases Federer's all-time record of 310. He also brought up his 900th tour-level win during the AO.

Rafael Nadal hits 1k: No, we are not talking about runs here. But, the record 13-time French Open champion from Spain, Nadal registered his 1,000th tour-level win during the Paris Masters. He became only the fourth player in the open era to do so, after Jimmy Connors, Roger Federer and Ivan Lendl. Besides, he also won the record-equalling 20th Slam after winning at Roland Garros, thus tying Federer's all-time record. Also, he finished in top-two for the record 12th time.

ATP Finals host 50th anniversary: The year-ending tournament, ATP Finals, hosted its 50th edition this year. Also, it was the final edition in London, with the competition moving to Turin, come next year. It was the longest edition of the same a venue had hosted.

Top-10 breakthroughs: The year saw three players breaking into the top-10, as Denis Shapovalov, Andrey Rublev and Diego Schwartzman attained the feat. Shapovalov became the 19th left-handed player to do so, while Rublev was the eighth Russian to do the same. Also, Schwartzman became the first Argentine since 2012 to enter top-10.
