The Indian women came up with a spirited performance to tame Australia in the quarterfinal of the Tokyo Olympics, as we present it all in pictures.

The Indian women put on the performance of a lifetime to restrict Australia and beat it 1-0 in the quarterfinal of the Tokyo Olympics on Monday. In the same light, we present their performance in pictures.

Gurjit Kaur fired in the lone winning goal in the 22nd minute, leaving the Australians demoralised.

Besides India's attack, Chanu Pukhrambam Sushila produced some great defensive work, hardly allowing the Australians to attack.

Although Australia had its share of attacks, India's impeccable defence, along with goalkeeper Savita, produced some great saves and stood at the goalpost like a wall.

Australia's Stephanie Anna Kershaw looked to be the most attacking one in the entire side, while he produced a top chance, only for it to go pegging.

The Indian defence played well to restrict Kershaw from attacking too much.

After the win, it was rejoice for India, as Neha and Navneet Kaur celebrate here.

The players were joined by the support staff, as all were ecstatic at qualifying for the semis.

It was heartbreaking for Australians as Edwina Bone and Brooke Paris embrace each other while shedding tears of sorrow.
