Liverpool are on the seventh sky following their Premier League title win last season, as it brought a halt to their 30-year title drought. While they look on course to defend it successfully this season, the side has piled up some injury concerns of late, as Jurgen Klopp’s men have a task at hand.

While James Milner is the latest addition to the long injury list, Thiago Alcantara and Trent Alexander-Arnold are yet to recover from their respective injury, entirely. Meanwhile, defenders Virgil van Dijk and Joe Gomez, along with forwards Xherdan Shaqiri and midfielder Naby Keita, are also set to miss their Tuesday’s UEFA Champions League (UCL) clash against Ajax.

Wondering on the same, Klopp has admitted that Liverpool might be short of players right now, making it difficult for them to rotate the squad. “I don’t have enough players to prioritise. It’s not about the competition, it’s about the players. On Saturday, the fittest players played,” he told during the pre-match press conference.

“It’s not a perfect situation, but obviously, not enough people want to offer us any kind of help (with the fixture scheduling), not only for us but for (all) football people. We just have to deal with it. I said it always - as long as we can line up with 11 players, we will fight with all we have and that’s still the case,” he added.

Nonetheless, Klopp did provide the fans with some good news on Jordan Henderson being back. “Yeah, I didn’t need that proof actually, but yes, it’s true. It’s very good news that Hendo is back,” he said after he made his return during their EPL clash against Brighton and Hove Albion on Saturday, which ended in a 1-1 draw.

As for Liverpool’s UCL campaign so far, it has been impressive, winning three off four, while they are placed atop their table. A win against Ajax on Tuesday would seal their spot in the pre-quarters.
