Lionel Messi was involved in a brutal tackle during the FIFA World Cup Qualifiers against Venezuela. However, he is doing all right as the side prepares for a showdown against Brazil.

Argentine superstar Lionel Messi was involved in a FIFA World Cup Qualifier clash against Venezuela on Friday. However, he was involved in a horrific tackle by Adrian Martinez.

Meanwhile, it has been confirmed by Argentine head coach Lionel Scaloni that Messi has come out unharmed of the tackle and expects him to gain full fitness ahead of its next game. Argentina plays arch-rival Brazil in the Superclasico de las Americas on Sunday.

During the pre-match press conference, Scaloni confirmed that Messi was doing fine despite the dangerous tackle. However, the final call on his availability for the Brazil clash would only be taken after doing some fieldwork on Sunday.

Nevertheless, Scaloni asserted that regardless of Messi plays or not, Argentina would take the game with utmost seriousness since Brazil has been on a positive roll of late. While he has identified the team line-up against Brazil, the side that played against Venezuela is yet to train as there could be some changes in the squad.

Scaloni continued to say that the side treats all opponents equally and gives its best on all occasions. He asserted that the side is prepared for different circumstances, besides having an unmistakable thought on what to do on the field and how the opponent is expected to play.

Argentina defeated Venezuela 3-1 on Friday, as the latter was reduced to ten men following the critical tackle over Messi. The La Albiceleste is placed second in the Qualifiers table after seven games (15 points), while the top spot continues to be claimed by Seleção after the same number of matches (21 points).
