The ISSF World Cup 2021 is being held in New Delhi, as India has had a considerable amount of success so far. Many Indian shooters produced medal-winning performances, as medals of every colour were attained. With an eye on the Olympics, the competition holds utmost importance.

India is off to a commendable start in the 2021 ISSF World Cup, held at the Dr Karni Singh Shooting in New Delhi. On Day 1, numerous Indian shooters produced medal-winning performance, as medals of every colour were won.

It was Yashaswini Deswal who headlined Saturday in the 10m air pistol as she shot gold. She recorded a score of 238.8, as she was comfortably placed on the top, while fellow Indian Manu Bhaker settled for silver with a score of 236.7 at the same event."This gold medal will help me strengthen the belief in my ability to perform, that I can do it if I am determined to it. I was just trying to do my best. This is only one of the two international competitions before the Olympics, so I had to focus on my mental temperament, technique, and what I have to do," said Deswal after winning the gold reports PTI.

As for the men, in the 10m air pistol, there were two Indians with medal-winning performances. While Saurabh Chaudhary claimed silver, Abhishek Verma settled for the bronze.

Iran's Javed Foroughi claimed the gold with a score of 243.6, while Chaudhary recorded 243.2. As for Verma, he totalled 221.8.
