Sourav Ganguly health condition improves; shifted to private room from CCU

Sourav Ganguly was shifted from the critical care unit to a private room on Friday (January 29) after he underwent angioplasty on Thursday (January 28) and got two stents implanted in coronary arteries.
 

According to hospital sources, Sourav Ganguly is likely to be discharged on Saturday (January 30) or Sunday (January 31).

A hospital official said, “Sourav Ganguly is doing well. He has been shifted to a private room from the critical care unit. He is almost fit to go home. Doctors are planning to release him on Saturday or Sunday.”

Sourav Ganguly was admitted to Apollo hospital on Wednesday (January 27) afternoon after he complained of severe discomfort in the chest. This is the second time in January he had to be hospitalised.

On January 2, he had been admitted to Woodlands Hospital after suffering a heart attack at home.

On Thursday, an angiography revealed that the blockages in the two other arteries had not reduced even though Ganguly is on medication. So, doctors decided to perform angioplasty to remove the blockages.
