Kerala gold smuggling case: ED says Sivasankar, Swapna Suresh travelled abroad together thrice

The Enforcement Directorate (ED), during the hearing today, revealed more details about the relation between M Sivasankar, who is the former principal secretary of Kerala CMO, and Swapna Suresh.

Enforcement Directorate has stated that Thiruvananthapuram gold smuggling case accused Swapna Suresh and chief minister's former principal secretary M Sivasankar had travelled abroad together.

In April 2017, the duo travelled to the UAE, in April 2018 to Oman and again in 2018 they travelled to UAE together, the ED stated.

The ED informed the court of this in the report it filed. The Enforcement directorate has submitted crucial information to show that there was a close relationship between Swapna and Sivasankar.

ED also said the “proceeds of the crime” were kept by Swapna in the bank locker jointly opened with a third person “as per the instruction of Sivasankar”.
