Coronavirus: Death toll crosses 1,200 in Kolkata says state health bulletin

The number of COVID-19 cases is increasing in the state. According to the state health bulletin, 541 cases have been reported in Kolkata in the last 24 hours.  The total number of deaths in the city stood at 1,203. Presently, the recovery rate is 79.10%.

However, the rate of recovery has increased in the state. According to the bulletin by the state health department, 2,964 people were infected in a single day in the state. 3,251 people have recovered in the last 24 hours, while 58 people lost their lives.

In a virtual meeting on Monday (August 24), chief minister Mamata Banerjee said the number of COVID-19 tests in the state has increased. Therefore, the recovery rate has also increased.
