Karnataka Administrative Services (KAS) officers in charge of constituency-level COVID-19 duties were briefed about their responsibilities by the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) Commissioner in Bengaluru on Thursday.

According to BBMP commissioner N Manjunatha Prasad, discussions were held with the officers on various issues such as arranging ambulances to be used for shifting patients, enhancing contact tracing and enforcing set guidelines in containment zones.

Further, the officers were directed to ensure home isolation norms are followed and to quickly shift bodies of COVID victims for cremation or burial.

The officers have also been asked to set up divisional control rooms and booth-level teams immediately to ensure various measures in place to contain the pandemic are enforced.
