TMC MLA Rabiranjan Chattopadhyay not to contest Bengal polls

TMC MLA Rabiranjan Chattopadhyay on Wednesday (February 10) said that he will not contest the upcoming assembly polls due to his age and health issues.

Rabiranjan Chattopadhyay wrote a letter to West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee where he expressed his gratitude for giving him the opportunity to serve for two consecutive terms.

The letter reads, “I beg to inform you that I will not contest West Bengal Assembly election, 2021, due to my age and poor health condition. I express my sincere thanks and gratitude for giving me an opportunity to serve the people of Bardhaman for consecutive terms.”
