Abhishek Banerjee holds ‘Mahayagna’ at TMC office near Mamata’s house

The Election Commission is going to announce the date of the Assembly polls on Friday (February 26) afternoon. Before the announcement, a Mahayagna was organized at the Trinamool office near Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee's house.
 

Abhishek Banerjee, the president of the youth Trinamool Congress was seen sitting in the yagna since morning. Babun Bandyopadhyay, the brother of the Chief Minister was also present at the event.

Jagannath Dayitapati, a priest of Jagannath Temple in Puri, is performing Yagna with Abhishek beside him. Many people say that the yagna was organized for the announcement of the election schedule.

According to sources, the yagna was already planned earlier. The preparations for the yagna started a few days ago. No one knew in advance that the Election Commission would announce the voting schedule on Friday. Rather, the political circles of the state thought that the polling day would be announced in the first week of March.

Twice a year, Mamata Banerjee brings priests from Jagannath Temple inPuri and organizes a yagna. The CM herself is present at the Mahayagna. After the end of the yagna, Mamata is scheduled to hold an emergency meeting with TMC’s top leaders at the same office at 5.30 pm. The Trinamool Core Committee meets every Friday. The meeting is always held at Mamata Banerjee’s Kalighat house.
