Abhishek Banerjee files defamation suit against Suvendu Adhikari

Trinamool MP Abhishek Banerjee has filed a defamation suit against BJP leader Shuvendu Adhikari. The case was filed in the Burdwan court on Thursday (February). The judge accepted the case.

Abhishek's lawyer Amit Kumar Nag said, "The case has been filed for making offensive remarks against my client."

According to Trinamool sources, after leaving the TMC, Suvendu Adhikari came down to the ground on behalf of the BJP and used one 'sentence after another' against Abhishek Banerjee from various public meetings. The TMC also alleged that 'offensive' comment was being made targeting Abhishek.

The Trinamool MP's lawyer said a notice was sent to Suvendu Adhikari to withdraw the remarks. But the BJP leader did not make any efforts. Therefore, Abhishek Banerjee filed a case in court.

Regarding the case, the Trinamool has said that the BJP is targeting Abhishek Banerjee, to defeat Mamata Banerjee in the upcoming polls. It needs to be legally disposed of.
