While his father Suresh Daggupati, who is also a Telugu film producer and distributor has denied any of his sons having any links with drug-takers or they taking drugs even for fun.

According to Greatandhra.com, the actor's name does not figure in the list of celebs who received notices from the Excise department, it is being said that Suresh Babu had used his influence in government to make sure his son's name is off the list.

However, Rana gets serious when it comes to the recent Tollywood drug story or the 'Udta Tollywood' controversy.

In an interview with a national newspaper, Rana said, "Just because I enjoy parties and also into Bollywood circles, people presume that I take drugs."
undefined
He added, "I run 20 km daily and work for hours to maintain my physique. If I take drugs, would it be possible to do all these."

This is not the first time Rana is facing rumours and gossips. In the past, Rana was linked to many heroines. Some time back, he finally decided to answer and maintained that while some rumours were true, some had no base whatsoever.

Commenting on the drug bust scenario, Rana said “Honestly, the whole thing has been blown out of proportion. If a filmmaker or an actor takes drugs, it really doesn’t bother me. They are adults and it’s their lives and they can do whatever they want. I don’t give a damn if you take drugs.”
undefined
What worries Rana is that children are taking drugs. “The dangerous story about school kids doing drugs worries me. That’s something that needs to be taken more seriously and addressed immediately. When youngsters who don’t have a mind of their own are doing drugs, it scares me,” he said. “Who is supplying drugs to these kids? Are these people immigrants? How are they bringing drugs into the country,”

Even in the past, he complained about being caught in rumours that were misleading and baseless.
