Kangana tells Jack Dorsey: 'Don't preach'

Actor Kangana Ranaut today lashed out at Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey on his own micro-blogging platform, accusing him of showing intolerance. Her outburst came after Twitter's decision to permanently ban United States President Donald Trump's personal handle @realDonaldTrump and @TeamTrump.

The early-morning outburst from Kangana came close on the heels of social media giant permanently banned United States President Donald Trump's personal handle @realDonaldTrump and @TeamTrump and deleted some of the recent posts of @POTUS handle.

Kangana appears to have dug up Dorsey's October 5 tweet in which he stated that the platform stood for "freedom of expression". "We stand for speaking truth to power. And we stand for empowering dialogue," Dorsey said.

Retweeting the 2015 tweet, Kangana posted: "No you don't; Islamists nation and Chinese propaganda has bought you completely, you only stand for your petty gains. You shamelessly show intolerance for anything other than what they want. U are nothing but a little slave of your own greeds. Don’t preach again its embarrassing."

Kangana's tweet comes a day after BJP MP Tejasvi Surya too condemned the action and said it is a wake-up call for those who don't yet understand the threat to democracies by unregulated big tech companies. 

He also urged the Centre to review guidelines for intermediaries. Intermediaries can't interfere into social media content, he said.

In November 2020 when Twitter blocked platform user True Indology, Kangana said, "When they don’t have answers to your questions they break your house, put you in jail, gag your voice or kill your digital identity. Eliminating one’s digital identity is no less than murder in the virtual world, there must be strict laws against it."

"Sick n tired of being treated like a slave in my own country, we can't celebrate our festivals, can't speak the truth and defend our ancestors, we can't condemn terrorism, what is the point of such a shameful enslaved life controlled by the keepers of darkness."

This is not the first time Kangana has lashed out at Twitter.
