‘Hero of nation’: Kamal Haasan pens tribute to MS Dhoni; talks about CSK captain’s ‘love story with Chennai’

Bengaluru: South Indian film superstar Kamal Haasan has paid rich tributes to MS Dhoni, who retired from international cricket on Saturday (August 15). Dhoni, one of the greatest captains of the game, will however continue to play in the Indian Premier League (IPL).

Since his announcement on Instagram, social media is flooded with tributes for the 39-year-old Dhoni.

Dhoni is the only cricket captain to have won all the three ICC trophies (World T20 2007, World Cup 2011 and Champions Trophy 2013).

Now, he is in Chennai preparing for IPL 2020 which begins in the UAE on September 19. He will lead the Chennai Super Kings (CSK).

Taking to his Twitter account, on Sunday (August 16), actor Kamal wrote, “Dear @msdhoni Thank you for demonstrating how self-belief can help achieve in sports and life. Rising from a small town to being the hero of the nation, your calculated risks and calm demeanour will be missed by Team India. Glad that your love story with Chennai continues.”
