Puneeth Rajkumar's sudden death sent shockwaves in Karnataka and the rest of the country. The actor passed away on Friday after suffering cardiac arrest. According to reports, Puneeth Rajkumar's mortal remains will be put to rest beside his father's grave, the legendary actor of Kannada cinema Dr. Rajkumar in Bengaluru. The order was issued by senior IAS officer N. Manjunath Prasad, Principle Secretary to the Chief Minister.
Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai has directed to initiate necessary steps to conduct final rites of the actor in the premises of Sri Kanteerava studio near the grave of Dr. Rajkumar in Bengaluru, the order stated. Puneeth Rajkumar’s mother Parvathamma's grave is also laid to rest in the same premises. The civic agency of Bengaluru and the Police department have been asked to make necessary arrangements.
The mortal remains of Puneeth are being kept for public view at Kanteerava Stadium till Saturday, October 30, evening. Currently, thousands of fans and people across the state are outside the Stadium to glance at their favourite star for the last time.
Reportedly, Puneeth Rajkumar's eye are donated by his family. According to news reports, Dr Bhujang Shetty, Chairman, Narayana Nethralaya told that Puneeth Rajkumar's father Dr Rajkumar, had said while pledging his eyes, that all members of his family will donate their eyes after death. Hence, the family has kept his word. Dr Shetty said, "Even at such a difficult time, they called me this noon and asked to retrieve his eyes. They are truly brave."
