Tendulkar also scripted a few records that remain unbroken to date, while some seem to be life records for him. However, despite having an illustrious career, he still has a couple of regrets in his life. Recently, in an exclusive interview with cricket.com, Tendulkar confessed the same.

"I have two regrets. The first is that I have never played with Sunil Gavaskar. Gavaskar was my batting hero when I grew up and not playing with him as part of a team remains a regret. Gavaskar retired a couple of years before I made my debut," Tendulkar said.

Before Tendulkar made his debut, Gavaskar happened to be the best Indian cricketer. Known as the Little Master, Gavaskar scored 10,122 Test runs, while Tendulkar scored 15,921.

"My other regret is not having played against my childhood hero, Sir Vivian Richards. I was fortunate to have played against him in county cricket, but I still rue not being able to play against him in an international match. Even though Sir Richards retired in 1991 and we have a couple of years overlapping in our careers, we did not get to play against each other," Tendulkar added.

Richards happened to be one of the prolific strikers of the ball for Windies. The side managed to win the first two World Cups due to his deadly batting, while he later also captained Windies between 1984-91.NOTE: Asianet News humbly requests everyone to wear masks, sanitise, maintain social distancing and get vaccinated as soon as eligible.
