Team India would be travelling to England for a hectic English summer, playing the ICC World Test Championship final, followed by a five-Test series against the host. As India looks to pass in flying colours, head coach Ravi Shastri has some plans in place.

The Indian cricket team is gearing up for a tough cricketing summer in England. It would be taking on New Zealand in the ICC World Test Championship final in Southampton next month, followed by a five-Test series for the Pataudi Trophy.

India would be aiming to attain success in both its commitments. While it would look to etch its name in the history books by winning the first-ever WTC, it would also aim for its first Test series win in England since 2007.

It would undoubtedly be a mountainous task for Team India and it will have to grind hard for success. Meanwhile, according to Times of India, head coach Ravi Shastri has tweaked some of the training skills and introduced three new techniques to make the side competent enough:

As for the latest training methods:- The size of practice pitches would be reduced to 16 yards instead of 22, especially while facing the robo-arm at the nets.- To have pre-shined balls at the nets, besides working on ways to keep the shinier side heavy.- To learn the art of leaving the ball.

The techniques are likely to help the batsmen make faster adjustments to their batting method. However, the most notable of all would be the art of leaving the deliveries, especially in Test cricket, owing to the substantial amount of seam movement on the English tracks due to the prolonged overcast conditions. Furthermore, it would boost the chances of the batsmen staying longer at the crease and would have a better chance at scoring centuries.NOTE: Asianet News humbly requests everyone to wear masks, sanitise, maintain social distancing and get vaccinated as soon as eligible.
