The Pataudi Trophy 2021 is currently led by India 1-0, having won the second Test at Lord's. Following the same, there has been some activity in the ICC Test Rankings for Players.

India outsmarted England in the second Test for the 2021 Pataudi Trophy at Lord's in London. Consequently, India has registered a 1-0 lead in the five-Test series.

Meanwhile, the win also had some shuffling in the ICC Test Rankings for Players. Starting from English skipper Joe Root to Indian batsman KL Rahul and seamer Mohammed Shami, they all gained places as we take a look.

Root played a valiant knock of an unbeaten 180 in the first innings at Lord's. As a result, he has risen to the second spot, while he seems to be inches away from the top place, currently occupied by New Zealand skipper Kane Williamson.

Meanwhile, Rahul scored 129 in the first innings of the same. Consequently, he has gained 19 places to rise to the 37th spot.

Among the bowlers, veteran England seamer James Anderson has risen a place to sixth following his fifer in the first innings. Also, pacer Mark Wood has advanced to 37th, while Indian pacer Mohammed Siraj has jumped to the 38th spot.

With three Tests to go, things are sure to get intense between the two sides, especially for the host that would be desperate to bounce back. The third Test starts on August 25 at Headingley in Leeds.
