India kept the pressure going on England as the former tamed the latter in the fourth Test at The Oval. It all happened on Day 5 of the Test, as there were quite a few records scripted in the process.

On Monday, India came out on top on Day 5 of the fourth Test against England at The Oval in London. India reclaimed the lead in the five-Test series, leading 2-1, while quite some records were attained in due course, as we take a look.

Jasprit Bumrah claims a fastest
Bumrah claimed his 100th Test wicket today. In the process, he also became the fastest Indian to attain 100-plus wickets in the same, in 24 Tests, going past Kapil Dev (25). He is the third-fastest Asian after Waqar Younis (20), Mohammad Asif (20) and Fazal Mahmood (22).

England registers some in a long time
- It was the first time in 13 years that the English openers registered a century stand in the fourth innings of a home Test.
- It was only the fourth time the English openers scored 50-plus each in the fourth innings against India.
- It was the first time that four Englishmen were bowled in the fourth innings of an India Test.

India registers some specials
- It was only the second time India won an overseas Test after bundling out for less than 200 in the opening innings.
- It was India's only ninth overseas Test win against England, equalling its most against Australia, Sri Lanka and Windies.
- It was the first time India won both Tests in London in a series (Lord's and The Oval).
- It was the first time that each innings saw a batsman being dismissed for 50.
- It is only the second time India has won more than a Test in a series in England, with the other being in 1986.
- India has become the first side to win at The Oval, batting first and conceding a lead of more than 50.
- It's the third time after Sri Lanka (2008) and South Africa (2010) that India has won the following Test in an away series after suffering an innings defeat in the previous Test.
- In an unwanted one, India has bowled the most no balls (56-plus) against England in a Test series, going past 2002 vs England (55).
- India's win at The Oval was its most extended wait between two wins at a venue (50 years).

Shardul Thakur has Joe Root's number
Thakur got rid of Root in the second innings, while he became his most frequent victim besides Tim Paine and Marcus Harris, dismissing all of them on a couple of occasions.

Ravindra Jadeja joins an elite list
Jadeja claimed his 50th wicket and scored his 500th run against England. He has become only the fourth Indian to do so after Vinoo Mankad, Kapil Dev and Ravichandran Ashwin.

Match summary
Being put to bat first, India managed 191, while England scored 290. The visitor bettered the performance in the second innings, scoring 466, thanks to Rohit Sharma's excellent 127. At the same time, a consolidated effort from the Indian bowlers handed them a win by 157 runs.
