Meanwhile, opener David Warner was in the headlines for his poor form, leading to him being dropped from the side, while he was forced to relinquish his captaincy to Kane Williamson earlier this season. Speaking on the same, Warner has termed it a bitter pill to swallow and never expects to get the answers.

Speaking to Sports Today, he said, "Look, I'm not 100% sure. With the maximum appreciation for the owners, Trevor Bayliss, Laxman, Tom Moody and Murali, it must be unanimous whilst a selection receives made. But, you do not know who's going for you, who wishes you the selected, who doesn't. End of the day, you are advised you are now no longer playing."
"I had 4 terrible games, run-outs in that, on slow and occasional wickets in Chennai. It's difficult, a sour tablet to swallow. However, I do not suppose I will ever get solutions and should pass them on. It's time to appear forward. There's every other public sale coming up. Meanwhile, it is likely that Warner would not be retained by SRH and would be a top attraction during the IPL 2022 mega auction. Also, with a couple of new teams coming in, Warner has declared that he is still willing to take up the captaincy role, as he loves doing it.
