The match in Abu Dhabi was a one-sided turned thriller. Terrific with the ball and flawless with the bat initially, the match was almost in favor of KXIP most of the time. Batting first, KKR managed to put 164 on the board. With some unstable middle-order and a bit of tough luck at the end, the shot of the last ball fell a few millimeters short of the boundary, and KXIP were defeated by two runs.Let’s just look at some of the talking points from this thrilling match.

Sensational Shubman GillShubman Gill yet again gave his team the momentum that was required after the initial shaky start. He provided the drive and did little partnerships with some middle-order batsmen. In his innings he struck 57 off 47 balls and departed following a run-out.

Dazzling Dinesh KarthikThe KKR skipper’s willow did the speaking and proved his worth. He gave optimum performance at a time when his team needed him the most. He smashed 58 off just 29 balls, and it was surely his over the mark performance that gave a total that was difficult for KXIP to chase.

Arshdeep-Bishnoi showArshdeep Singh, the left-arm pacer bowled an exceptional spell. Conceding only 25 runs from his bowling, he even bowled a maiden over and scalped a wicket. Coincidently, wristy spinner, Ravi Bishnoi also conceded the same runs and the same wickets as Arshdeep, during his spell.

Rahul-Agarwal ShowKL Rahul and Mayank Agarwal jammed well yet again. Their openers made a 115-run partnership and brewed hopes for KXIP’s easy win. However, with a fluked middle-order and exceptional Sunil Narine’s bowling during the death overs, even the mighty Glenn Maxwell failed to make a two-run over the edge hit to change the match result.
