Rahul Tewatia was the star of Rajasthan Royals on Sunday after he steered his team to a memorable win against Kings XI Punjab. He scored a brisk 30-ball half-century, despite scoring just eight of the initial 19 deliveries. He had previously played for RR in 2014.

His debut teams: Hailing from Delhi's neighbouring state Haryana, he was born in Faridabad. He made his First-Class debut for the state in 2013, in the Ranji Trophy, against Karnataka, where he could manage only 17 runs. He later made his List-A debut during the 2016-17 Vijay Hazare Trophy. He had made his IPL debut in 2014 with RR.

He was on a bidding war during the auction: During the 2018 auction, his base price was just ₹25 lakh. However, he had entered a bidding war, before being eventually roped in by Delhi Daredevils (DD) for 30 times more than his base price (₹3 crore). He was there for a couple of seasons, before being traded to RR in 2020.

His career stats: Being an all-rounder, he has scored 190 First-Class runs in 13 innings at an average of 17.27, and has claimed 17 wickets in seven matches at an average of 30.05, including a five-for. In List-A, he has scored 484 runs in 19 innings at an average of 37.23, including three half-centuries, besides also claiming 27 wickets in 21 matches at an economy of 4.57. In T20s, he has 691 runs in 40 innings, at an average of 27.64, including twin half-centuries, while he has claimed 33 wickets in 50 matches at an economy of 7.34.

Decent IPL stats: As for his IPL stats, it is decent, having scored 174 runs in 14 innings at an average of 21.75 and has a strike-rate of 135.94. As for his wickets, he has claimed 17 in 22 matches at an economy of 7.55. In 2019, while playing for Delhi Capitals (DC), he scripted the record of joint-most catches by a non-wicketkeeper (4). He was also the Man of the Match during his KXIP debut, in 2017.
