Cricket Australia was previously sponsored by Gillette, a men's grooming brand, who namely sponsored the limited-overs international contests in Australia. As for CA's Test sponsor, Domain pulled out from their previous deal, while Vodafone has been roped in.

In what could be considered a fitting deal as per the current circumstances, sanitising and antiseptic brand Dettol has been roped in as the new sponsors for Cricket Australia (CA). The deal is set to run for a period of four years, starting 2020-21.

Dettol is all set to be the title sponsors for Australia's men and women international limited-overs series in the country. It would be replacing Gillette, a men's grooming brand, whose deal came to an end earlier this year.

Dettol would also be the naming partners for the support staff of men. They were previously sponsored by Bupa, a health insurance company, based in Australia.

"Dettol is such a well-known and trusted brand with a long heritage, both here in Australia and around the world, and their support will give confidence about protecting the return of community and elite cricket this summer. Beyond this summer, we look forward to working with Dettol to help embed hygienic behavioural change into schools, clubs and communities through cricket," said Nick Hockley, CA's CEO.

"We're excited to bring the expertise of Dettol to Cricket Australia, partnering together to protect the sport so many Australian's love, from watching our national teams play to participating in games ourselves through community clubs. As a part of this deal, CA would conduct trials to apply disinfectants on the ball. As a part of the trial, the ongoing series between Australia and New Zealand women, which is being watched by limited spectators at the venue, involves the ball to be sanitised by the umpires after it has landed in the stands. Dettol would also supply its products to around 3,500 cricket clubs in the country.

As of now, Australia's men's cricketing summer is scheduled to start off with India's tour, which is likely to begin with the limited-overs series, in November. The tour was postponed due to the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL), being held in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

As for the Test part, Vodafone is going to be their title sponsor for the next three years, starting 2020-21. It has replaced Domain, an Australian real estate company, which pulled out of their deal, two years premature.
