Dubai: Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) have five Karnataka players including captain KL Rahul. Also, the team’s coach Anil Kumble and manager Avinash Vaidya too are from Karnataka. So, what happens if Rahul, Mayank Agarwal, Karun Nair, K Gowtham and J Suchith want homemade Karnataka food in the UAE during the IPL 2020? Rahul has the answer.

All the eight IPL teams have landed in the UAE for the Twenty20 tournament. KXIP are staying in Dubai.
As per the BCCI’s guidelines, the players are under quarantine for six days. After staying in isolation in their hotel rooms, they will head for practice.

In an interview with IPL’s official website, KXIP skipper Rahul was asked what if they miss home food in the UAE.
To this, he said, “Look, honestly we have been at home for the last four-five months and eaten so much home food. I don't think for the first two or three weeks we are going to miss home food.”
He continued, “But, if it has to be arranged, I know that our manager Avinash Vaidya is someone who will get you Kannada food anywhere in the world. And Anil (Kumble) bhai as well. I remember, when he was the coach of the Indian team, and whenever we travelled, he got us some really, really yummy food.”
This will be the first time that Rahul will be captaining KXIP in IPL. Also for Kumble, this is a new assignment with Punjab. Previously, he has worked with Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and Mumbai Indians (MI).
Kumble is not only a spin legend but is a very good photographer. Also, he is known for his culinary skills.
During the coronavirus (COVID-19) lockdown, Kumble shared videos of him cooking at home in Bengaluru.
