Following a weak and tough outing in the One-Day Internationals (ODI), visitors India made a fine comeback, as they bounced back in style to tame the mighty Aussies in the following three-match Twenty20 International (T20I) series. Batsmen: The batting department lacked a big name in the form of senior opener Rohit Sharma, who continues to recover from a hamstring strain. Nonetheless, it still possessed a couple of big names in the form of opener Shikhar Dhawan and skipper Virat Kohli, along with Manish Pandya, Mayank Agarwal and Shreyas Iyer. However, when it came to performing, it was the two big names, who were on the scoring sheet. Kohli finished as the highest run-scorer, scoring 134 runs in the three innings at a terrific average of 44.66, including a half-century, while Dhawan finished on third. All-rounders: The department had three prominent names in the form of Hardik Pandya, Ravindra Jadeja and Washington Sundar. However, when it came to performing, Pandya was class apart. Notwithstanding, it must be noted that he played primarily as a batsman, since he refrained from bowling, owing to his just-recovered back. As for his batting, he scored the third-most runs for the side, scoring 78 in three innings at an average of 39.00. Meanwhile, Sundar fared with the ball, claiming 285 in the three games at an economy of 7.08. Wicketkeepers: The department bolstered with a couple of names: KL Rahul and Sanju Samson. Both were in decent form with the bat. Rahul scored the most, of 81 from three at an average of 27, while Smason was just next to him. Spinners: Among spinners, there was only a specialist one in the form of Yuzvendra Chahal, who just nailed it. In the three matches, he claimed 4117 at an economy of 9.75, finishing as the second-highest wicket-taker for the side. Least to say, coming in for an injured Jadeja did do the trick for him. Pacers: The department was well-loaded with as many as six names. However, the one star that outshined everyone was debutant T Natarajan. He finished as the highest wicket-taker, claiming six wickets from three at an economy of 6.91. He was followed by Deepak Chahar and Shardul Thakur, while Shami was rested after failing to get going in the opening game.
